Welcome to Volume 5. A Cold War Special Edition. 

This Volume of Direction of Travel explores the world of Pan American World Airways (Pan Am) and Aeroflot, the Soviet national airline. It dives deep through two airlines who flew on either side of the iron curtain and includes numerous maps by both airlines and charts their routes across the world, sometimes even into each other's territories. 

Alongside maps from Aeroflot’s and Pan Am’s rich history it also includes a brief history of circumnavigation and a profile of Gander International Airport, Newfoundland.
